49ers Lose Big to Seattle

How can a team that did not have any holding penalties in the first three games get called for so many penalties today? Justin Smiley and Jonas Jennings were the main culprits today but the whole offense is to blame for today's meltdown. It would not have mattered if Tom Brady was playing quarterback for the 49ers today because the play-calling once again was atrocious and the linemen did not give the quarterbacks enough protection.

Trent Dilfer, subbing for an injured Alex Smith, did the best he could under duress. Has Jim Hostler ever heard of a screen pass to the running back? Hey Mr. Hostler, just a thought. I don't think Hostler even attempted a reverse this week but the play would probably go for a ten-yard loss considering how good the Seahawks defense played or or how poorly the 49ers blocked. It is one thing to get called for so many holding and offsides penalties on the road with a loud crowd, but to make so many mental mistakes at home is unacceptable. Someone has to be accountable for the mistakes and the head coach is at the top of the list.

Mike Nolan clearly did not have his team ready to play this game as Mike Holmgren clearly outcoached him. This was sweet revenge for the Seahawks as they were swept by the 49ers last season. Julian Petersen had a huge game and was in the 49ers backfield almost as much as the running backs were. The 49ers Faithful cannot blame Alex Smith for this loss. This team's offense is anemic and it won't get any better next week when the Ravens come to down. Ray Lewis, Bart Scott, and Ed Reed must be salivating at the thought of coming to the Bay Area next week after watching tape of this game. Maybe Smith should let his sore shoulder rest up for another week and come back after the bye week.

As for the 49ers defense, they did the best they could to try and keep the score respectable and held Seattle to field goals instead of touchdowns for the most part. Nate Clements had a nice interception but Derek Smith dropped what looked like an easy interception in the first half. Now you know why Smith leaves the field on passing downs besides the fact that he is not fast enough to cover anyone in space. Unfortunately for the 49ers, Matt Hasselback had more than enough time in the pocket to find his receivers.

While the Rams are in last place at 0-4, the Cardinals defeated the Steelers and are now 2-2 along with the 49ers. San Francisco may be in second place in the NFC West, but they could have easily been 0-4, as they luckily won the first two games at the end of the fourth quarter. With the Ravens coming up before the bye week, the 49ers Faithful better hold on because they are in for a bumpy ride.

NFL Week 4 Preview and Picks

Seahawks vs 49ers
This is a battle for NFL West supremacy as both these teams are 2-1 going into Sunday. The 49ers must pound Frank Gore into the heart of the Seahawks defense and Gore should get no less than 25 carries. Alex Smith has to not make any critical turnovers. If Smith struggles, you will not see Trent Dilfer in the game as Mike Nolan will stick with Smith through thick and thin. The reason for this is because Nolan drafted Smith. Arizona's Ken Whisenhunt benched Matt Leinart last week in place of veteran Kurt Warner and Warner almost led the team to an upset over the Ravens. Whisenhunt did not draft Leinart and therefore does not hesitate to make a quarterback swith when his starter is playing poorly. For the Seahawks, Shaun Alexander is playing hurt and has an injury in his left wrist that prevents him from stiff-arming opponents or carry the ball with his left hand. This injury will affect his receiving abilities as well. Look for Maurice Morris to get more playing time this week. Matt Hasselback is one of the more accurate passers in the league but he better watch out for CB Nate Clements who will be covering WR Deion Branch all game long. The 49ers should play WR Ashley Lelie more as he is the only 49er that can stretch the field. This game will come down to a field goal.
49ers 23 Seattle 20

Raiders vs Dolphins
There might be rain in the forecast in Miami on Sunday. The Raiders will have a good chance to pull the upset if Daunte Culpepper plays well and he surely has the motivation to do so and stick it to his former team. Joey Porter has predicted a win for the Dolphins which surely will fire up his team as well as the Raiders. Miami's defense has been terrible all season and LaMont Jordan could have another big rushing game. Look for the Raiders to pound Jordan for more than 20 carries. Ronnie Brown will also get many caries for the Dolphins. Trent Green needs to be careful with the ball against the Raiders cornerbacks and linebackers. I will go with the Raiders here as Lane Kiffin will outcoach another rookie coach, Cam Cameron and Culpepper gets his sweet revenge.
Raiders 23 Dolphins 20

Packers vs Vikings
Brett Favre will win this game for the Packers along with the Packers defense. The Packers have no running game to speak of but the Vikings are dominant against the run anyways. Favre will take advantage of the Vikings cornerbacks and safeties. Kelly Holcomb is the starter for the Vikings but he will have a tough team getting anything going offensively against the talented Packers defense. The Packers are on the rise and although Favre doesn't play as well on turf as he does on grass, the Packers have the clear edge in this game.
Packers 27 Vikings 13

Chiefs vs Chargers
Chargers are 1-2 and everyone is blaming Norv Turner. Be patient everyone as we are only three games into the season and the Chargers will destroy the Chiefs. This team lost two tough games on the road but they will be in the friendly confines of Qualcomm Stadium this week. LaDanian Tomlinson will get his touchdowns and the Chargers defense will cause a few turnovers.
Chargers 31 Chiefs 10

Bears vs Lions
The Bears finallly pulled the plug on Rex Grossman as their starting quarterback and have inserted Brian Griese as their new starter. The Lions defense gave up 56 points to the Eagles last week. The Bears have too many injuries on defense and the Lions will get the upset.
Lions 24 Bears 16

Texans vs Falcons
Matt Schaub returns to Atlanta to face his former team. He will be without three of his main offensive weapons as Andre Johnson, Jacoby Jones, and Ahman Green are all out with injuries. The Falcons will look for the upset here and get it.
Falcons 19 Texans 17

Ravens vs Browns
The Ravens defense will be too much for Derek Anderson and the Browns offense. Willis McGahee will have a big game for the Ravens.
Ravens 24 Browns 10

Rams vs Cowboys
Marc Bulgar is playing with two broken ribs. Steven Jackson is out for this game. Dallas will roll in this one and TO will score at least two touchdowns along with Marion the Barbarian Barber III.
Cowboys 34 Rams 13

Jets vs Bills
Trent Edwards will start for the Bills as JP Losman is out with an injury. This is a must-win for the Jets. Bills defense is terrible and the Jets will roll to an easy victory.
Jets 24 Bills 9

Broncos vs Colts
This will be a good game and should be close. I give the edge to the Colts at home. Javon Walker is out for the Broncos. The Broncos picked up Dre Bly in the offseason and he has to show up today and cover Reggie Wayne well.
Colts 27 Broncos 20

Eagles vs Giants
The Eagles will win this one on the road. The Giants secondary is terrible and Donovan McNabb will exploit their weak corners all day.
Eagles 31 Giants 20

Bucs vs Panthers
Jeff Garcia has not thrown an interception all year and runs the West Coast Offense as good as anyone. This game will come down to an field goal.
Bucs 20 Panthers 17

Patriots vs Bengals
Will Randy Moss be my AFC East player of the week for the fourth week in a row? Bengals do not have a good defense and their running back Rudi Johnson is out for the game. Kenny Watson will start in his place. Patriots roll to a easy victory in front of whole nation on Monday Night Football.
Patriots 38 Bengals 23

Steelers vs Cardinals
Ken Whisenhunt and Russ Grimm will face their old team this afternoon. Both were past over by the Steelers for the head coaching job which went to Mike Tomlin. Anquan Boldin is out for the Cardinals. Steelers will be without Hines Ward.
Steelers 24 Cardinals 17

49ers Offense Experiencing Growing Pains

Alex Smith is not Tom Brady, but he is no Rex Grossman either. No one should be surprised that the 49ers lost at Pittsburgh last Sunday 37-16. Smith finally threw for a touchdown but also had a costly interception. The 49ers are sitting pretty at 2-1 and tied with first place with the Seahawks as they head into a pivotol battle this Sunday against Seattle at home.

The key to Sunday's game will be getting Frank Gore back on track. Gore needs to get at least 100 yards and a touchdown. The defense has been playing well all year and kept the team in the game last week. Nate Clements will have to shutdown WR Deion Branch and the defense must not let Shaun Alexander run wild. Alexander is still a great running back, but he is nicked up and does not possess the speed of Willie Parker. Parker was the player who gave the 49ers defense fits all game long in Pittsburgh. TE Vernon Davis will be out for at least two weeks so WR Darrell Jackson must step up against his former teammates.

The loss to Pittsburgh was not surprising as the Steelers are one of the top three teams in the AFC with a great defense. No one expected rookie coordinator, Jim Hostler, to outcoach veteran defensive coordinator, Dick LeBeau, who is one of the best coordinators in the game. Hostler was overmatched in this battle. Instead of running Gore up the middle countless times, he should have called for more screen passes and sweeps. Everyone knows that Casey Hampton is a big run-stuffing tackle and yards would be hard to come by in the middle. I am sure the Seahawks will be ready for a double reverse by a wide reciever as Hostler likes to call that play at least once in a game. Although Smith threw 35 times, he should have attempted 50 passes. How about spreading the Steelers defense out by putting four WRs on the field? I guess Hostler never thought of that. Hostler decided to have Smith roll out of the pocket a few times, but the Steelers were disciplined and were always in position to make the tackles or disrupt Smith enough to make him hurry his throws.

This is the third offensive coordinator in three years for Smith and that has to be hard for him. Norv Turner was a perfect tutor for Smith but the Chargers made the mistake of making him their head coach. Turner is a great coordinator but a terrible head coach. The 49ers miss his creative play-calling and experience which Hostler does not yet have. Unfortunately for the 49ers Faithful, Smith and Hostler will experience growing pains together throughout the season.

Ode to Barry Bonds

ODE TO BARRY BONDS
The Giants are gettin rid of Barry after 15 years
The fans are angry and the kids are in tears
But nobody said that life was fair
You gave us so many great memories
By breaking records and letting us watch history
Leading the team in home runs even at 43
It's not your fault this season was full of misery
Through the years, I made sure I got my tix
So I could be there for 500,600,700, and 756
Next year there will be many empty green seats
And probably more losses and defeats
When the team lost, you always took the heat
762 homers, that's quite a feat
The media kept on calling you a cheat
But you never let them haters get you down
And you always made pitchers nervous on the mound
So scared they would just give you four balls
Throw a strike and the outfielder runs out of room at the wall
You are the greatest ever, no doubt
The player that fans will tell their grandkids about
Better than the Babe and Hank
Barry, you will be gone but for the 15 years, we say thanks

Ode #2
Barry meant everything to the team
Him being gone,I hope it's just a dream
He gave us nothing but fond memories
With his home runs that made history
When Barry left the game, we left the stands
Because we came to watch "The Man"
He is one of the best and a true legend
And his father is watching down proudly in Heaven
For the Giants, he was our MVP
Still hitting homers at the age of 43
Why are they letting him go when he can't be replaced?
Next year we might still be in last place
Barry, you will be missed
And all we can do is say thanks and think back and reminisce
You are the best player ever to play this game
And we'll see you soon in the Hall of Fame

What We Learned From UFC 76

In every event, one fighter will lose and then decide he will drop a weight class.

There will be at least one or two controversial decisions by the judges.

If you bet on MMA, put your money on the big underdogs. They will make you a lot of money.

The fans will boo the fighters for no reason. Fighters need to get used to it and have thick skin.

5 Questions After UFC 76
1) Is this the end for Chuck Liddell?

2) Who does Shogun Rua fight next?

3) Who really won the Griffin/Tavares fight?

4) Should there be a Griffin/Jardine rematch and should the winner get a title shot vs Rampage?

5) Why did Dana White put the Machida/Nakamura fight on pay-per-view? Everyone in the know knew this would be a boring fight and end in an decision.

NFL Week 3 Preview and Picks

Colts vs Texans
Andre Johnson is out for Houston so Matt Schaub will have to find new targets to throw to. This will be tough against the Colts defense. Colts are cruising along and I expect another win.
Colts 27 Texans 17

Chargers vs Packers
Chargers are the favorite to win this one but Packers have a solid defense and I am not sold on Norval Turner as a head coach. I will give the Packers the edge because they are at home and Brett Favre still has some magic left in him. Playing back to back road games in the NFL is not an easy thing as well.
Packers 24 Chargers 23

Vikings vs Chiefs
Kelly Holcomb might get the start for the Vikings in place of the injured Tarvaris Jackson. The Vikings are formidable against the run so Larry Johnson might not get many yards again on the ground. Give the edge to the Chiefs only because it is never easy to win at Arrowhead.
Chiefs 16 Vikings 9

Lions vs Eagles
Eagles are 0-2 and this a must-win for them. Donovan McNabb needs to have a good game for them to win. Jon Kitna is coming off a concussion from last week's game. Lions win in an upset as the Eagles defense is decimated by injuries to Brian Dawkins and Lito Sheppard. Lions have not gone 3-0 to start a season since 1980.
Lions 27 Eagles 24

Bills vs Patriots
Patriots are hitting on all cylinders early on this season. They will destroy the Bills. The Bills do not have enough firepower offensively to keep up.
Patriots 38 Bills 13

Dolphins vs Jets
The Jets need this win or they will be 0-3. They will get the win in an ugly game.
Jets 19 Dolphins 17

49ers vs Steelers
Steelers will give the ball to Willie Parker about 25 times. They will blitz Alex Smith on many downs and Frank Gore will not find any room to run. Vernon Davis will get more than two catches this week. I will go with the Steelers here but the 49ers keep it close. Casey Hampton will dominate 49ers center Eric Heitmann all day in the trenches. Let's see if Patrick Willis can tackle the speedy Parker.
Steelers 20 49ers 17

Cardinals vs Ravens
Ravens are at home and their defense will pressure Matt Leinart all day long.
Ravens 23 Cardinals 10

Rams vs Buccaneers
Jeff Garcia played well last week vs the Saints and Joey Galloway had a monster day. Rams are in disarray at 0- 2 after two tough losses. The Rams will pull the upset with Marc Bulgar leading the way.
Rams 27 Bucs 17

Jaguars vs Broncos
Jaguars don't have enough offense to win at Denver. Jay Cutler bounces back from a subpar game last week against the Raiders.
Broncos 23 Jaguars 16

Bengals vs Seahawks
Cincy has a lot of offensive weapons but their defense is bad and has many injuries. Seahawks win in a high-scoring affair. Shaun Alexander will get many carries as the Seahawks want to control the clock and shorten the game.
Seahawks 35 Bengals 34

Browns vs Raiders
Raiders will win this one. They will get their first win of the year with solid defense and big yards by Lamont Jordan.
Jordan should have at least two touchdowns.
Raiders 27 Browns 13

Panthers vs Falcons
Carolina will win this one easily with defense and Steve Smith. Best matchup to watch is Smith vs CB DeAngelo Hall.
Panthers 24 Falcons 10

Giants vs Redskins
Redskins come off a big win against the Eagles on Monday night. The Giants are 0-2 and Tom Coughlin's job is on the line again. The Giants have given up 80 points in two games.
Redskins 23 Giants 20

Cowboys vs Bears
This is the best matchup of the week. Rex Grossman always makes a costly mistake or two on offense. Cowboys defense is still suspect.
Cowboys 23 Bears 17

Titans vs Saints
Saints will finally win a game. Vince Young's first game on Monday Night Football should be a good one.
Saints 27 Titans 23

Giants Fans Furious at the Front Office

Today is a sad day for all San Francisco Giants fans. Their superstar player won't be around after the end of this season. His last game at home will be next Wednesday night against the Padres. Barry Bonds will no longer be a Giant after that. When the Giants had their press conference this evening, owner Peter Magowan looked like he just came back from a funeral while general manager Brian Sabean was all business as usual. Sabean spoke like a confident man and said he plans to retool the team through free agency and trades but of course, gave no specifics. Does this man have a plan? I seriously doubt it. The only plan he seems to have is to annoy season ticket holders and frustrate them with his incompetent decisions. Magowan makes the ridiculous move of resigning Sabean to a new contract while cutting ties with his superstar player. The last time ownership sided with the front office over a player in the Bay Area was when the Warriors ownership sided with Don Nelson over Chris Webber and we all know how bad that decision was.

Principal partner Larry Baer got on the local TV channel this evening and said he expects the attendence next year to be over three million. He said the fans want to see the Giants win and will go out to the park to watch players such as OF Rajai Davis and pitchers Noah Lowry and Matt Cain. Is this man delusional or what? Giants fans do not care about Davis, Dave Roberts, or Noah Lowry. They care about Bonds. Giants fans already have said they will not renew their season tickets for next year as there will be no Bonds in left field or an All Star Game. Bonds brought excitement and joy to all the fans for 15 years. Kids were looking sad this evening at the park when they found out their favorite player would not be back in a Giant uniform in 2008.

Giants fans are angry and furious at the front office. The message boards and forums are filled with fans saying they will not renew season tickets or go to a game next year. I don't blame these fans either. Why would you renew season tickets when you can just go and buy a ticket at the ticket office outside the park? Games will not be sold out anymore. The Devil Rays may be in last place but they are not a boring team. I would pay to watch Carl Crawford, Scott Kazmir, Carlos Pena, and B.J. Upton play. Can I say the same about Kevin Frandsen, Dan Ortmeier, and Guillermo Rodriguez? You already know the answer to that. Give me a 43-year-old Barry Bonds over all of those players.

The front office is trying to place the blame of the team's losing record to Bonds. The fact is that if Bonds was not on this team, the Giants would be looking at over 100 losses this year. It is Sabean's fault and not Bonds for signing Rich Aurelia, Ryan Klesko, Dave Roberts, and Barry Zito. How about the new contract for Ray Durham? Is that Barry's fault too? Is it Barry's fault that Zito had the worst season of his career or that Matt Morris couldn't get his curveball over? Fans came to the ballpark this year to watch Barry hit home runs and not to watch the
Kevin Frandsens of the world. You can bet next year that there will be lots of empty green seats at 24 Willie Mays Plaza. Congratulations to Brian Sabean and the whole front office of the Giants for getting rid of their meal ticket and best player. Come next year, the 2007 season will be considered a success compared to the 2008 season.

49ers Offense is Offensive

Sometimes it is better to be lucky than good. The San Francisco 49ers somehow are 2-0 and know all about being lucky. The defense has been very impressive but their offense is quite offensive to say the least. Who is at fault for the anemic offense? Although fans place the blame squarely on Alex Smith's shoulders, he is not as big of a problem as the shoddy and very conservative play-calling by offensive coordinator,Jim Hostler. Niner fans are already wishing Norv Turner never left as the offensive coordinator to become the head coach of the Chargers.

How bad is the 49ers offense? They had only eight first downs last week compared to 20 by the Rams. Alex Smith has thrown zero touchdowns in two games. Vernon Davis only has four catches in two games when he should be the primary receiver on each passing play. Davis should be what Tony Gonzalez is for the Chiefs but he appears to be nothing but a decoy so far. Hostler has to do a better job of calling plays to get Davis open. Smith had a sheepish grin on his face after the game while telling reporters that he knows the offense has to get better. Mike Nolan and Hostler are doing Smith no favors by not letting Smith pass the ball in crucial downs. Instead of playing to win and showing faith in their young quarterback, they are basically telling Smith that they do not trust him in key situations. Steve Young was on a local tv show and said that Smith needs to demand more responsibility from his coach and that you should be able to tell if a quarterback will be any good by the end of his third year.

As the 49ers head to Pittsburgh later this week, they should not expect to score many points against one of the best defenses in the league. The Steelers have only allowed 10 points in two games. Smith will probably be under pressure the whole game and won't have time to throw any intermediate or deep routes. Pittsburgh did not give up more than 100 yards to any running back last year so Frank Gore will have trouble getting his yards.

The 49ers defense will have to key on #39, Willie Parker, who is one of the fastest backs in the NFL. Parker can easily turn a five-yard run into a 50-yard touchdown once he finds a small opening. Expect more than 25 carries from Parker on Sunday. Besides Parker, the other weapons on the team are veteran WR Hines Ward and speedy WR Santonio Holmes. Ward is one of their best blockers on running plays and loves to lay big hits on defensive backs. I am still not sold on their new head coach, Mike Tomlin, and am waiting to see how he handles the team during difficult times and games. The Steelers should win this game by 10 points, but the 49ers have nothing to lose on Sunday and should open up their playbook so we can see what they really have in Smith. Nolan has been able to laugh at all the criticism of the team's offense in the first two games by saying the bottom line is that they won both games. He won't be laughing anymore though if the 49ers start losing games due to the conservative play-calling by Hostler.

Q&A With MMA Fighter Jon Fitch

D Wizzle had the opportunity to talk to UFC welterweight fighter Jon Fitch briefly before his highly anticipated fight with Diego "Nightmare" Sanchez at UFC 76 this Saturday in Anaheim. UFC President Dana White has said this battle could be "Fight of the Year." Fitch trains out of the American Kickboxing Academy(AKA) in San Jose,California along with other top fighters such as Josh Koscheck, Josh Thomson, and Mike Swick. MMA fans are starting to know what kind of fighter Jon Fitch is as he is now fighting other top contenders and no longer fighting in prelim matches that do not air on the pay-pay-views. Fitch is one of the best fighters in the welterweight division and has won 13 straight MMA fights and six straight in the UFC.

How come you don't have a nickname and do you want one?
I think it is gay when people give themselves nicknames so I never gave myself one and no one else has given me one yet. If I'm ever given one that sticks, then cool... but I'm not going to force it.

Can you tell the fans two things that they might not know about you?.
I love cartoons. 75% of all the TV I watch are cartoons. I love stand-up comedy too.

You are from Indiana but you are not a basketball fan. What is up with that?
I just think it's boring... plus the guys act all tough and act like they know how to fight or something.

Although you are one of the best welterweight fighters in the UFC, a lot of the casual MMA fans do not know that. How do you feel about that?
I don't really care, as long as I get to fight the best guys out there and I'm getting paid for it, I'm happy.

You like to play video games. What kind of system do you have and what are your favorite games?
I have an Xbox 360. Oblivion, Fight Night 3, Gears of War, Dead Rising and Bio Shock.

You train at AKA with top calibur fighters everyday such as Josh Thomson, Mike Swick, and Josh Koscheck. Diego Sanchez left Team Jackson recently for another gym in California. Do you think this could help or hinder Diego in preparing for his fight with you?
I'm sure it won't hurt him, but I don't know if it will help him. I hope I get to see the best Diego there is for our fight. I only like fighting the best.

Are there any new fighters training out of AKA that we should look out for ?
"Sugar" Cain Velasquez..he is a heavyweight and he will be the champ in two years.

I will name a few fighters and I would like you to give a short comment about each of them if you could. Let's start off with Cung Le.
Will surprise a lot of people with what he can do
Josh Thomson
Very scrappy with a ton of skill
Trevor Prangley
Good grappler, hits like a truck
Matt Serra
I really dont know much about Matt. I only seen him fight once.
Matt Hughes
Knows how to win, good champion

Leave Britany and Bill Alone

What the hell is going on? Is this a guy or a girl? or both?

Now this one is better.Pretty funny

NFL Week 2 Preview and Picks

Buffalo vs Pittsburgh
Pittsburgh will win this one convincingly as the Bills are not mentally prepared for the game. Their minds were on their fallen teammate, Kevin Everett, throughout the week. Big Ben will have another solid game. The Bills lost 3 starters on defense last week which won't help matters at all.

Cincinnati vs Cleveland
The Bengals will win this one. Romeo Crennel is on the hot seat for the Browns. The Browns need to play Brady Quinn soon. Chad Johnson should get a TD or two this week and Carson Palmer will have another great game.

Indianapolis vs Tennessee
The Colts will win with offense AND defense. Their defense held the Saints to only 10 points last week and the Titans are not an offensive juggarnaut by any means. Vince Young will have trouble getting anything going offensively this afternoon.

Houston vs Carolina
This could be a tougher game than expected for the Panthers but they should come out on the winning side at the end. The match-up of Steve Smith vs Dunta Robinson should be a good one. Robinson is slowly becoming one of the top CBs in the AFC, but no one can really stop Smith for four quarters. Let's see how Matt Schuab plays on the road.

San Francisco vs St Louis
The 49ers will win this one in an upset. Frank Gore will get 2 TDs and Vernon Davis should play better than he did last week. Tully Banta-Cain will get a few sacks today as well on Marc Bulger.

Kansas City vs Chicago
Rex Grossman better have a good game this afternoon at home. The Chiefs are going nowhere this season and Larry Johnson won't be going anywhere today. The Bears have a great defense and if they can hold L.T. to 25 yards, they can stop Johnson as well. The Bears will win big.

Dallas vs Miami
Dallas should win this one but Miami always plays great at home in September. This could be a high-scoring game. Dallas can put up points and their defense can give up points as well. I'm not calling for the upset but this game could be close going to the 4th quarter.

San Diego vs New England
This is a rematch of last season's AFC championship game. I will give the edge to the Chargers and L.T. tonight. They have revenge on their side and the distractions from the video scandal will affect the Patriots.

New Orleans vs Tampa Bay
The Saints will destroy the Bucs today as Drew Brees and Reggie Bush both bounce back from their horrible performances in Week 1. The Bucs are going to be one of the worst teams in the league this year.

Green Bay vs New York
I like Green Bay in this one with their defense. Manning is not 100% healthy.

Minnesota vs Detroit
Lions win big in this one. Jon Kitna is looking very impressive so far this season.

New York vs Baltimore
Ravens win with defense today.

Atlanta vs Jacksonville
Jaguars by 20 in this one. The Falcons are as bad as the Bucs.

Seattle vs Arizona
Arizona will win with the upset at home.

Oakland vs Denver
Denver will destroy the Raiders as Jay Cutler shows everyone who was the best quarterback in last year's draft.

Interview with The Ultimate Fighter Star Gabe Ruediger

D Wizzle is back with a new interview and this time it is with MMA fighter and Team Quest member Gabe "Godzilla" Ruediger. Ruediger, as most know, was the star of last season's
The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) TV show. His antics on the show caused major controversy among both fans and fighters alike. Weather you like this controversial fighter or not, no can deny that he made TUF 5 more entertaining to watch for the viewers. With the show being over, Gabe is looking forward to the future and getting his career back on track. Instead of just being known as the outrageous character that he was portrayed as on the show, Gabe wants to be known as a talented fighter. Check out this very interesting and informative interview.

You fought about two weeks ago. Can you tell the fans how you did?
I won in the first round by choke. I initially was mounted in the first minute and went for an armbar. My opponent (George Kassimatis) and I both went threw the ropes and we were stood up. In a little less than three minutes, he tapped out. It wasn't my best performance, and I had some ring rust, but I walked out unscathed and ready to fight again.

The fight was in a ring. Do you prefer fighting in a cage or a ring? Any big difference?
That was my first time in a ring. I actually prefer the cage. The action stays constant regardless of the position you are in. Being my first fight in a ring, it might have just been about getting a feel for it, but I prefer the cage.

What is your entrance song when you walk to the cage and why did you pick that particular song?
The Song is a Godzilla Remix of "Turn to Ghosts" by Damnation A.D. I've actually known members of the band for a long time and they were kind enough to do a remix. As far as the reason, it's a great song and there are Godzilla roars.

What did you think of the Hendo/Rampage fight?
I hated the outcome, obviously. I trained in the room with Dan and he looked great in preparation. I really felt the fight could have been a draw - rounds one and two to Dan, three and four to Jackson, and the last round a draw. I'd love to see a rematch.

Who did you think won the Bisping/Hamill fight?
Hamill hands down. It makes the sport and the UFC officials look bad to have such a blatant robbery. One judge gave ALL rounds to Bisping, which was worse than the decision.
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Tell me something the fans might not know about you.
I own more than one suit, but haven't worn any of them in a long time.
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

What's next for you?
To keep fighting. I'm in negotiations with a few organizations and I'm looking for the proper home. My last fight gave me more incentive to improve and keep pushing on.

I heard that you will be fighting Gabe Rivas at the Cow Palace in San Francisco on October 20. Is this true?
Yeah, I signed to fight, but I haven't heard anything since.

Many fans have ripped on you for your actions on The Ultimate Fighter. You wanted to seperate yourself from the other fighters and distinguish yourself and you clearly did that. Do you have any regrets from the show? I think that if people were asked to name a fighter from that season, your name would likely come up first or second.
Yeah, I did a good job of being recognized! (Laughs) I would have taken the fighting portion of the show more seriously. I lost track of that and of all the things, that is my biggest regret. I realize I was painted in a poor light and it might have still came off that way, but I lost track of what I've based my life around for the past five years.

What do you think of the use of steroids and other illegal substances in MMA and have you ever had the temptation to take anything like that?
It's difficult to say. Some of the illegal substances are not of enhancement nature, but I suppose you have to have a zero tolerance policy. This is a professional sport and enhancements are going to be prevalent in it. As far as taking steriods, I have a hard enough time maintaining my weight without that stuff! (Laughs)

How did you get the nickname "Godzilla"? It's a story I've told in many interviews. Come on man, you were doing so good!(Laughs)

Sorry, but I had to ask you that since I have not seen you answer to that in other interviews. Many fans have asked me to ask you this question as well.
Okay, I was training in Japan with a really small Japanese guy. Some of my Japanese friends were sitting there and laughing. When I got done training, I asked "What's so funny?" They pointed at my arm which has a dragon tattoo on it and said "Godzilla, Godzilla!" I tried explaining that it was a dragon, but they found it amusing and everytime I would go train, they would call me Godzilla. I told the story when I got home and the nickname stuck.

Here are some questions that I got from fans.

What is your favorite dessert?
Not sure... I guess ice cream.

Do you have a girlfriend?
Nope

What kind of girls do you like?
It depends. Is this an interview for a dating site ?

What are your favorite TV shows?
I don't watch a lot of TV. If my TV is on, it's for background noise and most likely a movie.

Why do you continue to entertain the negative attention you get about the cake episode and the "Burger Boy" nickname?

I don't get this question at all. The cake episode was beyond retarded and I've explained only about 5000 times. I did not eat the cake before cutting weight!!!! It was a week or more prior!!!! As far as "Burger Boy" as a nickname, that's a first and it's as stupid as the constant cake comments.

How has sacrificing who you are to gain TV time affect your life?
Can you answer that question? How does it seem to affect my life? Besides my contract with the UFC being canceled, and the really stupid jokes about cake on the Internet, everything is going really well.

Where do you see yourself a year from now personally, relationship wise ,and in this sport?

Weird dating question again. Personally, I'm hoping to be doing whatever is making me happy and enjoying myself like I have been. Relationship - wise , I' m hoping to at the very least have a puppy... literally not figuratively. Career- wise... hopefully back to fighting tough competition and pushing forward.

Thanks for the time Gabe. Do you have any final words for the fans?
I'd like to give a thank you to those that have supported me and the true fans. It's great that you have been there regardless of the crazy way this last year has turned out. My sponsors deserve thanks as well. Fairtex, TapouT, Sinister Brand, Forty Thieves Clothing, and On The Mat. Also, check out gabegodzilla.com for more and up to date info.

NFL Week 1 Preview and Picks

Chiefs vs Texans
Look for the Texans to win in a low scoring affair. Kansas City has a good defense but their offense is too predictable. Watch out for WR Jacoby Jones of the Texans who will play opposite Andre Johnson in the Texans offense.

Broncos vs Bills
Denver will win this game as they have the better QB and defense. Travis Henry will run all over the Bills and Champ Bailey will shutdown Lee Evans in the passing game. Bills might be 0-3 after their first three games as their next two games are on the road.

Steelers vs Browns
No upset here. Steelers will win with defense.

Titans vs Jaguars
Let's see if Vince Young can pass the ball and avoid the rush against the vaunted Jacksonville defense. It will be interesting to see how well new starting QB David Garrard does also for the Jags. I will give the advantage to the Jags today due to the running back duo of Fred Taylor and Maurice Jones-Drew.

Panthers vs Rams
This will be one of the better games of the week. Tough game to call here but I will take the Panthers in an upset. The Rams defense will not be able to stop Steve Smith or the running of DeShaun Foster and DeAngelo Wiliams.

Eagles vs Packers
The Packers have no running game right now and Brett Favre does not even have any healthy WRs to throw to today. Packers defense should be improved. This game could be close and I would have to give the edge to the Eagles because they have more explosive playmakers on offense.

Falcons vs Vikings
Very intriguing game here. I will go with the Falcons in an upset. These two teams won't be going anywhere this year.

Dolphins vs Redskins
Another game with two teams who won't make the playoffs. I would give the slight edge to the Redskins as they are at home but Jason Taylor will create havoc for Jason Campbell all day long. Look for Portis to get at least one TD today. This will be another low scoring game.

Patriots vs Jets
This game will be very compelling as the two coaches dislike each other very much. Patriots will win the game but it won't be easy. The game of the week next week is the Patriots vs the Chargers.

Buccaneers vs Seahawks
Seahawks will win this one going away. Jon Gruden will be on the hot seat after this game.

Bears vs Chargers
This could be a Super Bowl preview right here. Chargers will win this game because they are at home and because they have the best RB in football in LaDanian Tomlinson. Rex Grossman is not a very good player and will throw a costly INT or have more fumble problems.

Lions vs Raiders
Raiders will win this game because the Lions D is terrible. Their corners cannot stop anyone and Jerry Porter should have a big game as well as LaMont Jordan. Jon Kitna will throw at least 2 INTs and get sacked a few times.

Giants vs Cowboys
Dallas in a landslide here. Eli is not his brother and has not shown the accuracy to be a great quarterback in this league. Giants will miss Tiki Barber more than they think. Tom Coughlin is on the hot seat.

Ravens vs Bengals
Ravens will win this one due to their stingy defense led by Ray Lewis. I hope Chad Johnson gets in the end zone but it will be tough. Johnson has stated he will do something very entertaining if he scores a TD.

Cardinals vs 49ers
49ers have lost four straight times to the lowly Cardinals. I expect that to change Monday night as Frank Gore rushes for 2 TDS and the 49ers win in a high scoring affair.

Hottie Of The Week Randi Wright

D Wizzle is back with another Hottie of the Week (HOW). The new HOW for this week is the one and only Randi Wright. When I was first introduced to Randi by my friend Keith Berry (KOTC middleweight champion), I knew I had found the new HOW. Randi is one of the hottest porn stars in the industry right now. Besides being very funny and engaging, Randi is also very ambitious and goal-oriented. Check out this interview as Randi talks about how she got into the porn industry and who she thinks should be the next president of the United States.

Thanks Randi for your time. How are you doing today?

I'm doing fabulous. Thanks for asking.

How did you get started in the porn industry?

Everyone always asks this question. My mom thought it would be the best thing for my future. Just kidding. Started dancing and then one thing led to another.
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Can you tell us about your two tattoos on your left and right abdomens?

The tattoos are of roses with wings, and they are cover-ups of a heart and cherries I used to have...no specific significance. I just think they look cool.

Are there any celebrities that you would like to do a porn movie with?

Any celebrities...hmmm Jessica Alba, Angelina Jolie, Paul Walker, and maybe Brad Pitt...typical.
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Your birthday is coming up. Can you tell us about your big party in Los Angeles?

Yes, I'm turning 22, God I'm getting old! Jessica Jaymes, Brittney Skye, Cassidey Rae, and some other girls are hosting my birthday bash at Basque in Hollywood. It's going to be so much fun. I can't wait!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Sounds like a lot of fun with all those porn stars there!

(Laughs) Yea, lots of people from the adult industry will be there.

Are you a big sports fan?

I'm not a huge sports fan, but I do enjoy watching UFC and MMA.Those are the kinds of fights I like to watch! I wasn't such a huge fan until I met Keith Berry.

What is your definition of a "rear naked choke"?

Well it sounds really hot if it's a guy behind a girl... if not I'm not so sure I like this move!! (Laughs)

What do you look for in a man?

Someone who is well-educated, well mannered, good looking and can protect me.
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
What do you look for in a woman?
She just has to be hot...nice body, cute in the face, and a good personality.

Who do you think should be the next president of the United States?

Me! I would make this world a better place to live in! (Laughs) Seriously though, vote for Randi!!!

Besides becoming the first female president, what other future goals do you have?

I'm actually in school now to become a nurse, but my main goal is to become a pediatric oncologist or a plastic surgeon.

What is the biggest misconception about you?

This is a good question. For one, I'm actually a really cool and down to earth
girl. People think that because of what I do, I'm a bitch or stuck up, but that's just not me...never been that way, never will. Secondly, just because we're porn stars doesn't mean you can get in our pants that easy you fuckin civilians!! (Laughs) No, but seriously, we are fucking all the time, and what makes you think because we do it all day means we want to go out and do it with you? Unless you're super hot, then it's not a question. You don't even have to be nice. (Laughs)

What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you working in the porn industry?

I don't really get embarrassed too often.

How about a funny story while working?

Something funny I can tell you that happened once was when I was in the middle of a scene, and as you all know I'm sure, we all have hair extensions so one of them came out and I guess you would have to be there because it was pretty damn funny because they kept rolling camera as I'm trying to throw a chunk of hair off set. It was kinda weird I guess.

Thanks so much for this interview Randi. Do you have anything you would like to say to your fans?

Thanks D Wizzle and thanks to everyone who supports me. I love you guys. Keep checking back on my site . It should be up soon. allrandiwright.com and randiwrightxxx.com

San Francisco 49ers 2007 Preview

Many NFL pundits and fans have predicted that the San Francisco 49ers will have a great season and contend for the playoffs. By signing players such as Nate Clements and Tully Banta-Cain in free agency, there is renewed optimism in San Francisco. The 49ers also had a solid draft as their first two draft picks, Patrick Willis and Joe Staley, have already become starters on the team. The depth on their roster is much better than last season's. Starters last season such as Defensive End Rodrick Green didn't even make the team.

Although the enthusiasm is high as the season is about to start, there could be many problems for this team. Frank Gore did not play one down in the preseason. The 49ers offense played poorly without him and Alex Smith has not proven that he can carry the team to a victory all by himself. During the preseason, Smith made many costly errors such as fumbling the ball or throwing an interception. Gore's health will be the main key for the 49ers all season long. If Gore is hurt, Michael Robinson and Maurice Hicks will have to share the load. Norv Turner left to coach the Chargers and the new offensive coordinator is Jim Hostler. Hostler has no experience calling plays in a game and his play-calling will be subjected to criticism if the offense falters. With Darrell Jackson, Vernon Davis, and Gore as weapons, there will be no excuses if this team is nothing short of an offensive juggernaut.
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Alex Smith with Mike Nolan in the background

The 49ers defense is young and fast. It will be vastly improved from the past two years. However, their first team defense gave up a lot of points and long scoring drives in the preseason. The good news for the 49ers Faithful is that there are many playmakers on this defense. Patrick Willis was a tackling machine at Ole Miss and is considered a Ray Lewis type. Tully Banta-Cain should put a lot of pressure on quarterbacks and have more than ten sacks. Nate Clements is considered an elite cornerback and should be able to help the 49ers handle the many talented wide receivers in the NFC West such as Torry Holt, Anquan Bolden, and Deion Branch.

The 49ers schedule is not easy. They could easily be a 10-6 team or a 5-11 team. Their tough road games include Pittsburgh and the New York Giants. If they do not win their first game against Arizona, they could very well go 0-3, as they go on the road to face St.Louis and Pittsburgh. Their tough home games include Baltimore, New Orleans, and Cincinnati. They have winnable games on the road against Atlanta, Carolina, and Cleveland. Home games against Tampa Bay and Minnesota should be victories. The best-case scenario would probably be about 11 wins. Even if the 49ers do not make the playoffs this season, this team will be exciting to watch thanks to all their playmakers on both sides of the ball. Unlike the San Francisco baseball team, who have nothing but aging veterans with no young prospects, the 49ers are young and talented and this bolds well for the future as well as the present.
