• The defensive players had "mental errors" on the  long passes that Brees connected on.
• "Our offensive line can play better."
• The Saints offense is similar to their own offense.
• Has not spoken with Vernon Davis after his outburst on the field but he will.  "Vernon is an emotional player."
• "Kentwan  Balmer is getting better."   
• "The vertical passes were the ones that got us in trouble."  
• Thought the defense did some outstanding things.
•  Wanted to slow the game down so he used the challenge in the 3rd quarter on a six yard gain by the Saints.

• Pleased with the way his team fought back and that it would pay dividends going forward.
• Players got Tuesday off.
• The defense brought five guys to blitz several times but they never got to the QB.
• There were 7 passes by J.T. O'Sullivan over 20  yards.
• Left Tackle Jonas Jennings was injured and came out due to a bad shoulder.
• Doesn't know why Nate Clements got a penalty for celebrating the 86-yard TD by Patrick Willis.

•  Arizona's offense ran 40 offensive plays to the 49ers' 15 offensive plays in the second half
• Did not blame J.T. O'Sullivan fully for the interception because the route could have been ran better
• Talked to Alex Smith and said that Smith is very disappointed about his injury
• Has talked about bringing in another QB on the roster
• Justin Smith played all  73 snaps on defense.
• Believes this year's football team is better than last year's even though the team is  0-1

Mike Nolan had his weekly press conference with the media this afternoon. Here are some of his tidbits and quotes. It appeared that he got a haircut but maybe he is just losing more of his hair after each loss.

• Nolan said that he is angry that they lost the game.
• Said that Patrick Willis, Nate Clements,Marques Douglas, and Michael Lewis played good games
• "Trent Dilfer puts his heart and soul into everything he does and I admire it"
  
• Also said that Dilfer gives them a chance to win in every game
• The team has an opportunity to bounce back and win against the Vikings
• He said it is unfair to compare Aaron Rogers and Alex Smith because the Packers are hot and have confidence and momentum.
• He wished that the defense would be able to get off the field on 3rd downs against Carolina
• Expressed that the defense and special teams are the strengths of the team
• Did not go for it on 4th and 2 at the Carolina 42 in the third quarter because it was a long two yards and they had no momentum.
• "Carolina is a very good football team"
• Arnaz Battle is questionable for the Vikings game
