NFL Week 8 Picks and Winners with Analysis

Another winning day yesterday as I posted winning upsets on Twitter with UNLV +6 and Tulane +2 both winning straight up. My big play on Buffalo -2 was a winner as well as they smashed Kent State.

This Sunday in Week 8, I like the money line parlay with the Kansas City Chiefs, Bengals, Packers, Seahawks, and the Saints.

The Chiefs should win as the Browns are playing Jason Campbell at QB.

The Bengals are playing the tough Jets who have a great defense but the Jets are still partying it up after their big win last week against the Patriots. Today they will have a letdown and the Bengals are back at home in front of their loyal fans.

The Packers play the Vikings on Sunday night and although there are many WR injuries on the Packers team, they still have one of the best QBs in the NFL behind center. Christian Ponder starts for the Vikings and he might be able to dink and dunk but he can't win a shootout against Aaron Rodgers.

The Seahawks vs. Rams game on Monday night is a no brainer. Seahawks will dominate. The Rams can't stop the run to save their lives and they have a back up QB starting.

I do believe the Bills could give the Saints a run for their money but this is the second straight game on the road for the Bills. Sure they defeated the Dolphins last week but they won't beat Drew Brees inside the dome today. They won last week due to three horrible turnovers by Ryan Tannenhill and Brees won't make the same mistakes.

I do love the Bills' defense though especially their defensive line which is the best in football.

Other picks are Over 51 in Cowboys/Lions and Over 57.5 in Broncos/Redskins.

Two upset picks are Dolphins +5.5 over the Patriots and Redskins +10  over Denver.

The Dolphins looked horrible last week but they have all their guys back on defense today against Tom Brady and this is not the Brady of old. Brady and Eli Manning are two QBs that have seen their stock fall this season.

No Aquib Talib for the Patriots means Mike Wallace can run free and I expect him to make some big plays down the field for the Dolphins.

The Redskins might be a bad team on defense but they can win a shootout against a bad Denver defense.

Sunday's Picks 27-23 Record

49ers -3 Washington has to fly all the way from the East Coast to face the 49ers. The 49ers are playing great under Mike Singletary and will play hard for him. Washington's "Super Bowl" was last week against the hated Eagles. The players are ready to go home and end the season. The 49ers' goal is to win the game and the Redskins just want to go home uninjured.

Houston -3

Illinois State -2

D Wizzle's Week 7 NFL Predictions and PIcks

Chargers over Bills: The Chargers offense won't be stopped today. The Bills defense is banged up and if the Cardinals can hang 41 points on the Bills, how many points will the Chargers put up?

Dolphins over Ravens: The Ravens don't have two of their offensive linemen today and this does not bold well for the Ravens offense. The Dolphins will win this one and use their Wildcat formation once again to confuse their opponent.

Titans over Chiefs: This is a mismatch of epic proportions. No Larry Johnson today for the Chiefs.

Jets over Raiders: The two Bay Area teams face the New York teams today. Brett Favre will have a good game, and so will the Jets defense. Raiders WR Chaz Schillens gets the start today over Ronald Curry. Schillens is 6'4 and 225 lbs. Let's see what this rookie can do.

49ers over Giants: Here is my upset special of the day! The Giants don't look that good and Eli Manning played poorly last Monday night. The Giants won't be able to stop the 49ers offense and the 49ers defense will do just enough to contain Brandon Jacobs and the run game of the Giants. The 49ers also remember last year's blowout loss to the Giants.

Bucs over Seahawks: Seneca Wallace will start for the Seahawks in place of injured Matt Hasselback. The Bucs defense will dominate the Seahawks offense.

Browns over Redskins: This will be a very high-scoring game. The Browns have momentum from their Monday night game against the Giants while the Redskins lost last week to the Rams.

Rams over Cowboys: The Rams are a different team under Jim Haslett than they were under Scott Linehan. The Cowboys will start veteran Brad Johnson at QB. Look for a few interceptions from him.

Steelers over Bengals: The Bengals will remain winless after today.

Broncos over Patriots: Jay Cutler will perform better than Matt Cassell.

Bears over Vikings: The Bears are angry after their loss last week to the Falcons.Their D will step up today. This might be a very low-scoring snoozer.

Texans over Lions: The Lions will remain winless. The Texans have a lot of momentum after their big win last week against the Dolphins.

Packers over Colts: The Colts played great last week against the Ravens but the Packers are at home and will win in a close one.

Panthers over Saints: Drew Brees won't be as good as he was last week and Jake Delhomme won't be as bad as he was last week either. Take the team with the better defense.
