Strikeforce's Shamrock Vs. Diaz Event Should Be Explosive

Strikeforce's first show of the year this Saturday night in San Jose should be very exciting and explosive.

The main event will be between local fighters, Frank Shamrock and Nick Diaz.

There are a lot of talented fighters on the card thanks to EliteXC going out of business. The now defunct EliteXC had fighters such as Nick Diaz, Jake Shields, Benji Radach, Brett Rogers, and Cyborg Santos.

These fighters and others now have a new home with Strikeforce.

The main card will have five fights, and three of them will probably end with a knockout.

The prelims will also have some exciting fights.

Besides the main event, I am looking forward to watching Brett Rogers vs. Abongo Humphrey, Cyborg Santos vs. Hitomi Akano, and Scott Smith vs. Benji Radach.

Akano's nickname is "Girlfight Monster." She reportedly is a very good fighter and it will be interesting to see how she does against Cyborg.

Strikeforce lightweight champion, Josh "The Punk" Thomson, got injured recently and his fight with Gilbert Melendez had to be scrapped.

Melendez's new opponent is Rodrigo Damm. The winner of this fight will get a title shot against Thomson.

Some exciting prelim fights include James Terry vs. Zak Bucia, Luke Rockhold vs. Buck Meredith, and Raul Castillo vs. Brandon Michaels.

Rockhold, Bucia, and Castillo are very intriguing young fighters with a ton of potential.

Ticketss are still available at the HP Pavilion box office. The first fight will start around 5pm and the main card will start at 7pm and aired live on Showtime.
