Week 11 of the NFL season starts tonight with the New York Jets(-6) facing the Denver Broncos. I was very surprised to see the Jets as six-point favorites considering that they lost late Sunday night to the Patriots at home and now they have a short week to prepare for Tim Tebow and the Denver run game on the road.
I am also surprised at the total of 40 because both teams are not offensive juggernauts. The Broncos' defense is underrated and their offense will rush the ball over 50 times in the game if they can.
An upset tonight would not shock anyone as Tebow and the Broncos will play inspired ball at home while the Jets are still reeling from their loss to New England.
There are only two double-digit favorites this week and they are the Patriots(-15) vs. the Chiefs and the Packers(-14) vs. the Bucs.
Unlike last weekend, there are no totals over 50. The highest total this week(48.5) is in the Packers vs. Bucs game.
The Jaguars vs Browns game is a pick and there are a few small favorites this week.
Miami is only a two-point favorite over the Bills at home and the Raiders are a one-point favorite on the road against the Vikings.
In a game that no one will care to watch but bettors, the Rams are 1.5 favorites over the Seahawks.
The Sunday night game on NBC will feature the Eagles vs. the Giants. The Giants are five-point favorites and the total is 46. If the Eagles lose, their chances of making the playoffs this year are not very good.
Michael Vick isn't playing well and has injured ribs while Eli Manning can torch the inept Eagles' secondary.
Another team that is struggling like the Eagles are the San Diego Chargers. The Chargers face the tough task this Sunday of going to Chicago and taking on the red-hot Bears. Chicago is a 3.5 point favorite and the total is 45.
The Bears are a sleeper in the NFC and I think they can make some noise in the playoffs.
There are only three road favorites this week and they are Oakland, Dallas, and the Jets.
The Cowboys are 8 point favorites vs. the Redskins.
Some of the top games to watch this week are the Jets vs. Broncos, Bengals vs. Ravens, and Eagles vs. Giants. There aren't a lot of marquee games this week with a lot of bad teams facing each other.
The Steelers, Texans, Colts, and the Saints all have a bye week.
