D Wizzle's Week 1 NFL Awards

AFC East Player of the Week: Buffalo WR/PR  Roscoe Parrish

Parrish had six punt returns for 120 yards including a 63-yard return for a TD to help the Bills beat the Seahawks.


AFC North Player of the Week: Pittsburgh RB Willie Parker

Parker ran for 138 yards and 3 TDs to help the Steelers destroy the Texans at home.


AFC South Player of the Week: Tennessee CB Cortland Finnegan

Finnegan had two INTs to help the Titans upset the Jaguars at home 17-10.


AFC West Player of the Week:  Denver  WR Eddie Royal

Royal caught nine balls for 146 yards with one TD to help Denver destroy the Raiders 41-14. 


NFC East Player of the Week: Philadelphia QB Donovan McNabb

McNabb was 21-33 for 361 yards and threw 3 TDs to help the Eagles defeat the Rams 38-3.


NFC North Player of the Week: Chicago RB Matt Forte

Forte ran for 123 yards on 23 carries to key a big upset over the Colts. Forte had a big 50-yard TD run in the first half to give the Bears the lead for good.


NFC South Player of the Week: Atlanta RB Michael Turner

Turner ran for 220 yards and two TDs to help the Falcons upset the Lions 34-21. 

Upset of the Week:  Carolina 26  San Diego 24 

Who would have believed the Panthers had a shot on the road against the Chargers? The Panthers didn't even  have their WR Steve Smith for the game.


NFC West Player of the Week: Arizona WR Anquan Boldin 

Boldin had 8 catches for 82 yards in the second half to help Arizona beat San Francisco 23-13. Boldin caught many of the passes in key 3rd down situations.
