Lana Stefanac Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Seminar on September 17 in San Francisco
"Lethal" Lana Stefanac will be having a Brazilian Jiu-jitsu seminar in San Francisco on September 17 at the Krav Maga Training Center.
Stefanac is a decorated Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt and a four time gold medalist in the Pan American Games.
Stefanac also has a record of 6-0 in MMA.
The seminar is from 1 to 3pm and the fee is $59 for members of the Krav Maga Training Center and $79 for non-members.

Meredith DiVita interviews MMA fighter and actor Cung Le
KNOXX reporter Meredith DiVita recently caught up with Strikeforce fighter Cung Le at his gym in San Jose.
In part one of the video, Le gives his thoughts on the upcoming Cain Velasquez vs Junior Dos Santos fight, and he also talks about his favorite actors to work with.
Le also tells DiVita that he still wants to fight on the UFC 139 card in his hometown of San Jose even though Showtime might be prohibiting him to do so.
In part two of the interview, DiVita asks Le about his Strikeforce contract and Le sasys he is still not giving up on fighting at UFC 139. Le knows he is no longer a spring chicken and that he needs to get in the UFC as soon as possible since Strikeforce doesn't even him as much exposure as the UFC would.

Why the San Francisco Giants won't make the playoffs this season
The San Francisco Giants will not make the playoffs this season. They are six games back with 26 games left in the 2011 regular season.
I have been telling Giants' fans that the Arizona Diamondbacks were a viable threat since way back in May and June but no one really believed it. Giants' fans would call me crazy and they insisted that their pitching would lead them to the NL West title again.
Pitching can help you win a game but you need to be able to hit too. Fans of the Giants seemed to forget this due to last season's World Series title.
The Giants got hot the last few weeks of the season in 2010 and they were hitting a lot of homers thanks to guys like Pat Burrell and Juan Uribe. Burrell has been hurt all season and Uribe is now a Dodger.
Aubrey Huff has been horrible all season long and Andres Torres has shown everyone that 2010 was a fluke and that he is just a one year wonder.
The injuries to Buster Posey and Freddy Sanchez also didn't help matters.
The Diamondbacks have a young star named Justin Upton and the Giants have a rookie who can't seem to hit a major league curveball in Brandon Belt.
The Giants have been selling out every game this year but you can expect there will be less fans in the stands in September. Some of their fans will probably jump off the bandwagon.
There will be shorter lines in the concession stands and the line to the bathroom won't be as long as well.
Merchandise sales will be affected negatively too. The illegal Giants' t-shirt stands on gas station corners will probably disappear and the Giants' booty shorts sold at Victoria's Secret will take a hit too.
Fans might think twice about buying expensive Belt jerseys too. Belt reminds me more of J.R. Phillips and Lance Niekro than he does of Will Clark at the moment.
Belt was supposed to be a Rookie of the Year candidate and be a better prospect than Freddie Freeman of the Braves but Freeman has exceeded all expectations while Belt has been a disappointment so far.
Starting pitching and the bullpen have been solid, but if your offense scores less than two runs a game, you don't stand a good chance of winning night after night.
The Diamondbacks have a great chance of sweeping the Giants this weekend in San Francisco.

My thoughts on Tony Bruno's racist tweet on Ramon Ramirez and calling Bruce Bochy a coward
Sports radio host Tony Bruno made a stupid mistake Friday night by calling San Francisco Giants pitcher Ramon Ramirez an "illegal alien" on Twitter.
I believe he should be fired for making that racist tweet. A public figure like Bruno should not let everyone know his racist thoughts. It's alright if he is talking to his friends at a bar and calls Ramirez a racist term but it is not ok for him to say it on the radio airwaves or on social media sites like Twitter or Facebook.
Bruno quickly backtracked and deleted the tweet but it was too late. Some of his followers smartly copied and pasted the tweet which you can see here.
Bruno has a Facebook fan page and there were hundreds of supporters commenting on his wall and telling Bruno how much they love him and will still listen to him. Many sports fans were mad at him too and called him a racist.
I bashed Bruno on his Facebook page for offending Asian Americans in the past with some of his jokes and he decided to reply to me even though I was one of many people that criticized him. Here is what he said to me -
"Get some facts Derek. I never offended Asians. All I did was NOT label Shaquille O Neal a "racist" when other PC talking heads were quick to call him a racist when he made a dumb fake Chinese accent in regards to Yao Ming coming into the league many years ago. Some bogus blogger wrote a fraudulent blog to the Chinese community. I brought him on the air for a debate on his "facts" and he cowered like the publicity seeking fraud he turned out to be. You need a listen on facts Mr Wizzle. You seem to be a guy who likes the victim card, not me"
I replied back to him by asking him if he honestly never made any Asian jokes and luaghed at the expense of Asians. And here was his reply to that -
"Derek Wizzle talks tough for a young dude with zero cred other than writing for a paper given away for free - which no one reads. You'll never get a real job in this industry by posting negative nonsense about someone you don't know who actually is respected by most in the biz."
Are you trying to scare me Mr.Bruno? I won't get a real job in this industry because I criticized you and called you out? You have that much power? I guess I better go back to school then and find another profession.
Who respects you? I don't and many fans don't because of both your racist tweets and fake insincere apologies.
I decided to reply back with "Tony Bruno talks tough for a old dude with zero cred other than being a Philly homer."
Bruno got so incensed at my comments that he quickly deleted all my comments and his comments towards me as well. He sure has a quick trigger on that delete button.
I'm not even a Tony Bruno hater. I've heard his radio show many times in the past. I think he has a good radio voice and he is often lively and energetic on the air. He can also be funny at times although most of his jokes aren't that funny anymore because I think he tries too hard.
The only reason I criticized him is because the criticism is warranted. I talked to many Latino men and women over the weekend and told them about the racist tweet. All of them were angry and mad about it and they all wanted Bruno to be fired.
Will he get fired? Highly unlikely. I don't even know if he will get suspended.

Video of San Francisco Giants and Philadelphia Phillies Brawl
There was a bench clearing brawl tonight in the game between the San Francisco Giants and Philadelphia Phillies.
San Francisco Giants' reliever Ramon Ramirez hit Shane Victorino in the back with a pitch and Victorino got mad and tried to approach the mound. Giants' catcher Eli Whiteside got in front of Victorino but then Phillies' third baseman Placido Polanco started to approach Whiteside from his blind side so Whiteside tackled Polanco.
Below is the video of what happened after that. I posted two videos just in case one gets deleted by MLB.

Here is the video of St.Louis Cardinals' catcher Yadier Molina bumping and spitting at the home plate umpire Rob Drake after arguing a called third strike in a game against the Milwaukee Brewers.
Molina will probably be suspended for many games and his team might not get a lot of borderline calls now when is back behind the plate. Umpires take these things personally and will try to test Molina in the future.

Below is the video of the blown call at home plate by umpire Jerry Meals at the end of the Atlanta Braves vs Pittsburgh Pirates game tonight. The Braves' runner, Julio Lugo, was clearly out as seen in the video.
I guess Jerry Meals wanted to go back to his hotel room and either sleep or eat a meal since it was already 2am in Atlanta. Bud Selig should investigate this matter and suspend Meals.

Kobe Bryant takes on Lil Bow Wow 1 on 1
Here's a video of Lakers' superstar Kobe Bryant taking on rapper Lil Bow Wow in a game of 1 on 1 for $1000 bucks. Of course Kobe destroys him and has his way with the very short rapper from Atlanta.
Bow Wow had no chance to beat Kobe and he didn't even wear shorts to play. I would destroy Bow Wow easily too but I would love to play Kobe 1 on 1 even if I have to fork over a thousand dollars.

Video:Texas Rangers' fan dies trying to catch a baseball from Josh Hamilton
Tragic story coming out of Texas tonight as a male fan of the Rangers was sitting near the outfield and tried to catch a foul ball thrown by Texas Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton but he fell to his death trying to get the ball. It's even more sad since his young son was sitting right next to him.

Shirtless San Francisco Giants' Fan runs onto field and touches Aaron Rowand
A shirtless and possibly drunk San Francisco Giants' fan ran onto the field at AT&T Park last night and reportedly touched Aaron Rowand from behind which startled Rowand.
The fan then ran across the outfield before getting arrested by security.
